I haven’t written a newsletter for awhile so I need to get at it again. As you may or may not know I have been involved with International Ag Labs (IAL) for a long time. I started at IAL July 10, 1986. IAL was started by Doctor Dan Skow in 1976 as Skow Enterprises and when we incorporated, it became known as International Ag labs. We served international clients for awhile and then 9/11/01 happened and it became harder to get soil into the country. I have been farming since 1954 and still am farming with the help of my son-in-law and grandson.
Dr. Carey was Dr. Skow’s mentor and he wrote a few rules. I thought I would remind you of them, as following the rules brings best results. Believe me, they work well, so pay attention to them. When we give recommendations for soil tests, these are the rules we follow.
Rule #1
Carbon Is the governor of moisture. One part of carbon holds four parts of water. Maybe the way things are going in the Midwest you may wish you didn’t have so much carbon in your soil. But you will be thankful for carbon when it gets dry.
Rule #2
The more carbon in a seed, the quicker it will sprout.
Rule #3
Manganese is the element of life. It brings the charge into the seed.
Rule #4
All elements in a molecular structure are the same size under the same temperature and pressure.
Rule #5
The center core of an element tells whether it is a seed producer or growth promoter.
Rule #6
Nature will follow the line of least resistance.
Rule #7
The lesser the density of your soil nutrients, the smaller the yields.
Rule #8
The greater the density of your soil nutrients, the greater the yields.
Rule #9
The process of osmosis is not limited by time.
Rule#10
The less time it takes to grow something, the better the quality.
Rule #11
The higher the sugar and mineral content of plants and trees, the lower the freezing point.
Rule #12
Top quality produce will not rot; it will dehydrate.
Rule #13
All organics inputs are seed producing.
Rule #14
Plants live off the loss of energy from the elements during synchronization.
Rule#15
When looking at livestock or plants see all possible outcomes. (See everything you look at)-------This is most important.
Rule #16
For every cause there is an effect.
Rule#17
Phosphate controls the sugar content of a plant.
Rule#18
The higher the phosphate content of your soil, the higher the sugar content of your crop, The higher the sugar content of the crop, the higher the mineral content. The higher the mineral content, the greater the specific gravity of a given bushel, box, or bale, and the healthier the animal who eats it.
Rule#19
All elements go into the plant in phosphate form except nitrogen.
Rule#20
The ratio phosphorus to potassium of all crops (except grasses) is 1:1 on our soil test.
Rule#21
The ratio phosphorus to potassium for all grasses is 2:1 on our soil test.
Rule#22
Potash determines the caliber of the stalk and leaves, the size of the fruit, and the number of the fruit, which sets on the trees.
Rule#23
Nitrogen is the major electrolyte in the soil.
Rule#24
Nitrogen is the center in every molecule.
Rule#25
Only the plant food that is soluble in water is available to the plant.
Rule#26
The higher the sugar content, the more nutrients the plants can pull from the air.
