2-Day "Hands On" Organic Garden Workshop

Workshop with Lynn Hoag and Jon FrankWhen: September 21-22, 2014
Where: Chisago City, MN
Cost: $65/person

Todd and Therese Asmus of Artistta Homestead and the St Paul Chapter of the Weston A Price Foundation will be presenting a 2-Day "Hands On" Organic Garden Workshop. The workshop will focus on growing nutrient dense foods. I will be co-teaching with Lynn Hoag (Sun Country Gardens Master Gardener).

Lynn has been teaching garden classes for over 20 years and is a dealer with High Brix Gardens. If you haven't taken Lynn's class I highly recommend it.

Feed the Soil, Feed the Plant and Feed the Leaf

Feed the Soil, Feed the Plant, Feed the Leaf

In my 3 sessions, I will be focusing on:

Feed the Soil

This first session of mine will include the soil test and fertility recommendations. This is how we mineralize the soil based on the specific needs of the soil. In other words, we are feeding the soil. There will be time for questions and answers.

Feed the Plant

In my second session, I'll be talking about and demonstrating how to maintain energy in the soil. I will have a practical demonstration of the conductivity meter before and after feeding the plant. As a gardener, you must feed the plant during the growing season.

Feed the Leaf

The third aspect I'll be teaching on is the importance of foliar spraying and feeding the plant through the leaf. I will actually demonstrate how that's done and will be debuting a complete foliar spray toolkit.

If you haven't already done so, I recommend signing up for a sequence of 30 articles I wrote about gardening for nutrition. Feel free to forward this to your friends.

Hotels

Check out Forest Lake MN, which is 10 minutes from the workshop. There are several hotels there and it's just off interstate 35. In Chisago City there is Chisago Inn and Suites. Not as nice as hotels in Forest Lake, but cheaper and closer. There is Summit Inn Bed and Breakfast in Center City about 10 minutes away. Or you can camp or rent a cabin at Ojiketa's Regional Park which is just down the road and about 5 minutes away. You can expand your search to within 30 minutes of Chisago City and find quite a few more hotels. Everything is pretty easy to get to from where the workshop will be.

I look forward to seeing you there!
